Empowering Faculty, Strengthening STEM Education 

The HEARTS Conference (The Puerto Rican Higher Education Assembly of Researchers, Thriving, not just Surviving)  is designed to equip faculty with the tools, strategies, and connections needed to drive meaningful change in STEM education for Hispanic students. Through expert-led sessions, hands-on training, and collaborative discussions, participants will: 

  • Explore self-care and wellness approaches to prevent burnout and improve retention. 
  •  Learn capacity-building strategies tailored to the unique needs of Puerto Rico’s HSIs. 
  • Strengthen their sense of belonging as researchers and foster local and national collaborations. 
  • Gain workforce development insights to better support Hispanic students in STEM 
  • Master competitive grant-writing and navigate bureaucratic challenges. 
  • Return to their institutions re-energized with actionable strategies to improve student outcomes.

About the Puerto Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust:
