The Puerto Rico Science Technology and Research Trust (“PRSTRT”) is a private non-profit organization created in 2004 to encourage and promote innovation, transfer and commercialization of technology and creation of jobs in the technology sector. 2.0 Job Description
Job Title: | Field Technician in Archaeologist |
Reports to: | Director of Cultural Heritage Innovation Program |
Location / Hours: | Puerto Rico Municipalities – Full-Time |
Purpose: | The Field Technician in Archaeologist will support the archaeological survey though shovel testing. Also, the Field Technician should excavate archaeological features, manually removing brush or vegetation, and carrying and maintaining tools and equipment.
Must have academic of the theory or experience in archaeological survey, excavation, documentation, mapping, data collection, research design, analysis of data and maps, and field identification and preservation of cultural resources. |
Key Responsibilities and Duties: |
Nationwide Programmatic Agreement of May 2002; |
General Manual 420, Part 401; National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, amended 2001; State Level Agreement with SHPO, and tribal agreements as applicable, to exercise a professional judgement over the conservation’s methods.

Qualifications & Technical Job Requirements: |

Education Requirements: | Associated Degree or 1-3 years of experience in archaeological fieldworks under Archaeologist supervision. |
Profesional Experience | One year of full-time professional experience or equivalent specialized training in archeological research, administration, or management and demonstrated ability to carry research to completion |
