On September we held our First Recognition Dinner to highlight achievements of our programs and the work of some of our researchers and entrepreneurs. One hundred guests attended the cocktail-dinner, last September 16, 2016, at the Sheraton Hotel & Convention Center, in elegant ballroom with decoration created by The Lounge, inspired in Agustín Stahl’s botanical watercolors. Among the guests there were researchers who have obtained grants from the Research Grants Program program, startups of Parallel 18, Puerto Rico Science managers, investors and leaders ecosystem science and technology program. Lucy Crespo, Chief Executive Officer and Ivan Rios Mena, Chief Operating Officer hosted the night with all its managerial and administrative team. The evening featured speeches of Jesus Omar Rivera, ‘el Boricuazo’, and musical performances from Así Somos. We recognized the outstanding work of Dr. Gregory Quirk in Neurosci- ence, who has19 years of research in Puerto Rico. We also presented the artistic concept of Bajari Award, that would be installed annually since 2017 to various deeds product of science, technology and research. The conceptualization of this award was commissioned to the Department of Design at the School of Plastic Arts of Puerto Rico.
